How to Make Egg Salad!

(lively music) – Hey friends.
– Hey everyone. – Thank you so much for
tuning in and Cook With April on Tasty Tuesday with my family, this is Liam, you guys know him, and that’s Justin.
– Hey guys. – So we’re going to show you
guys how to make egg salad. I have been obsessed with
it ever since Justin’s mom made it for us and I just love it, so this is kind of like my twist on it, I’ve changed it up a little bit. So in a large pot I place
water and a dozen eggs, and I’m going to boil that. Before I boil I add a
sprinkle of baking soda. This will allow your eggs to peel easily. After boiling, you’re gonna
remove it from the heat and let it sit in a covered
pan for 10 to 15 minutes to cook a little bit more, and then I’m going to
place it in an ice bath simply because it will allow the eggs from not cooking anymore, and also, it’s easier to
peel when it’s not hot. So as you can see, adding
the baking soda to the eggs made it so easy to peel the shells. And that is how you
make an easy boiled egg. Super simple and so easy to peel. And now to the egg salad. I added mayonnaise and
the eggs in a large bowl, and then I added Dijon
mustard, and you guys, it’s all about the taste
not the measurements. I did put measurements in the info box, but go by your taste. if you think it needs more salt, add salt. If you think it needs more mayo, add mayo, and there I went ahead
and added some paprika. And I used a fork and a
knife to mash the eggs and the mayo and the
Dijon mustard together. And I love cayenne pepper. I think it adds such amazing
spice and kick to it, so I added that, and some salt and pepper. and I’m mixing all of that together, and I love green onions, so
I added some green onions. If you don’t like it as much as I do, you definitely don’t have to put as much. And that’s your egg salad. You can make a sandwich like I did, two pieces of sourdough and some lettuce. Or you can just enjoy it as is. It’s time to taste the
yummy nummy egg salad. – Yes, I’m so excited. – Just to let you guys know, I’ve made this about maybe 10 times. – Seriously. – So, Justin knows what it tastes like, but you guys, I mean, but you can share what you like or dislike
about it, okie dokie? – Absolutely, so we’re just
doing a pretty simple sandwich right here with some lettuce on it. – Yeah. – Not too much else, and
this is some sourdough bread. – Mmm, Liam’s like,” Ooh, Daddy, “One day I’ll get to eat it.” – Mom, if you’re watching this,
please don’t be mad at me. But, I really like how you do
the spicy kick in it honey. – Oh , thanks. – Honestly, I feel like it
adds such a dimension to it. It is so unbelievably good. Honestly, like until
when my mom came over, we had my mom over when Liam was born and she helped make a bunch
of meals and stuff. And she made egg salad and it totally — – It was good. – It was so delicious and it
reminded me of my childhood, and so we’ve been having
it so much lately. – Yeah, once a week. – Once a week, it’s perfect for leftovers for lunch or something. – And we’re doing this for dinner tonight, so it’s really delicious, thank you. – And it’s a good picnic food. We actually brought it
for a picnic one day. Yeah, so we hope you guys enjoy. You can have it just
simply as an egg salad or a sandwich like we like. We’ll see you guys soon
and please subscribe, bye. (lively music) – Hi, friends.
– Hey, everyone. – Thank you so much for
tuning in and Cook With April on Tasty Tuesday, and the new addition to Cook With April would be Liam. (Justin laughs)
