Frugal Crock Pot Meal , all In ONE Dish !

where everyone happy Wednesday I wanted
to share with you cooking in the Sun Oven well hello
it’s another rainy dreary day and I can’t be in the Sun Oven so it’s going
to be another crock pot Wednesday wonder what we’re gonna find that to make in
the crock pot today mmm should we make some chicken well let’s see what we can
come up with in the kitchen hmm don’t have groceries day for another
week or so so what am I gonna make I got some chicken I got some stuffing hmm
shall we make chicken and stuffing yum yum so join me in the kitchen for
another crock pot Wednesday it’s my kitchen on this cool damp rainy
Wednesday and I’m gonna share with you a recipe that I need Oh maybe over maybe
two years ago now and it’s one of our family favorites and is stove top
stuffing with some chicken and it’s really good crock pot meal here I am and
I have to finish up bag in this chicken now I got it for twenty nine cents a
pound because they had an anniversary sale now Ike and all of the broth but
I’m going to freeze some of this I have so much chicken that’s canned and it is
nice to have some things in the freezer even though my freezer is really small
but the reason why I’m doing this today is because a crock pot meal it’s going
to be using some chicken it’s a very simple crock pot meal but it’s very good
as you see I have a sweatshirt on and we’re almost in the middle of May 40
degrees and torrential rain for days on end I’ve been very concerned about my
garden but so far everything looks okay but let me tell you what this season is
a challenging one so far it does make you wonder but we can have a good
growing season this year last year wasn’t very good at all so I’m hoping
that it’s better this year but you know just never know so I have a
little bit I have one more bag of chicken to do here
and then we’ll go ahead and we’ll make our meal break the bottom of the crock
pot with some coconut oil then I add one can of cream of chicken soup if you
don’t like using store-bought soups you can go ahead and make yourself a white
sauce if you like but I do use the cream soups I decided to add green beans as my
vegetable now you can add any vegetable you wish and now we’re gonna go ahead
and add the chicken that I already took off the bone so and make sure you get
all this chicken out I know I make a lot of meals using chicken but chicken for
me it’s the cheapest way of having some protein we’re just gonna go ahead and
we’re going to just stir it lightly I am gonna add a little cheese you don’t have
to add cheese but a little bit of cheese does make it better this does seem a bit
rich this way actually last us more than one day and in the alternate days we eat
very light now you can add more cheese if you wish
there are you seeing that add the green beans that was something that I can I’m
going to be showing you incorporating more my canned food in all of my meals
so now I’ve got one box of stuffing you can use bread cubes anyone
I’m going to sprinkle that in the whole box now we’re going to go ahead and
we’ll get just stir it lightly that’s it my friends that’s all there is to it
this is a wonderful potluck meal you can do whatever you want with it you can add
ground beef you can add carrots you can add any kind of vegetable that you wish
today we’re gonna have the green beans because on Mondays I had peas we’re
gonna flip through this and on low for about four hours because everything is
cooked and it’s gonna be about four hours on low the crock pot meal is
finished and I hope you enjoyed this video and I hope you put together a
crock pot dish like this it’s actually something very easy to make it’s very
versatile and it’s very frugal take care everyone see you guys tomorrow from
peonies diary we’re on May the 15th 1943 today I was
sewing Marion’s powderpuff dress it was 16 inches from the floor

  • โ€‹ I was responding to Centsible Living With Money Mom. When she was younger her mom told her that men only like thin women, not over weight, women. There are many people who judge people by they way they look without really getting to know the real person. Men and women that just look at the outward beauty often lose out on a beautiful person on the inside because they failed to see their inner beauty.

Here is my reply to Centsible Living With Money Mom: To those men I say, more bounce per ounce. No one is perfect. You must learn to love their flaws as well as their fine points.

I have dated very beautiful women before, Playboy Bunnies to be exact. But they were always into themselves and what they can take from the world. I would rather have a woman that would rather give to the world and think of others instead of her outwardly beauty. I have learned to look at their souls first then move outwardly. Once I find a beautiful soul; I rarely look outwardly. ๐Ÿ™‚

Let us all look for the inner beauty, the soul before judging the outward cover of the book. You may find that there is a life time of wonder to behold. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Am I first? Good – I know – no sun oven – have had a lot of cloudy and rainy days lately!
We had a bad year for growing last year too and I was surprised that many of the small farmers gave up on some crops. A few things came through, but many got drowned. I did pretty good until the tomato and squash worms showed up. Any suggestions accepted on keeping the worms away. I planted lemon grass near some of the things this year and I know that cayenne pepper is good next to tomatoes to keep the things off of them. Gardening is never routine, always exciting though.
That chicken dish looked good – wonder if you could use mushrooms instead of the chicken?
    Where is everybody?

  • Oh Tessie youโ€™re so cute and funny. Itโ€™s pouring down rain at my house too, way over the country in Washington State. Thank you sister for another video. I love you Tessie! You are very very special to me, love Tammy๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ’œ

  • Telling the chickens you're going to cook some chicken! Hee hee! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”

  • Tessie that looks so good. I just made chicken broth and all my chicken is in the fridge. I will pick up a can of cream of chicken soup tomorrow. I am pretty sure I have stuffing mix. Looks yummy. Love ya sis. Your garden looks great. Still waiting for last frost and warmer dry weather before planting.

  • Since Iโ€™ve been about 14 Iโ€™ve made something called Swiss chicken casserole and this reminds me of it ! YUMMM YUM as Tessie would say!

(9×13 pan oven 350 LAYER 6 chicken boobs top with condensed soup of choice plus a lil milk then top with either Swiss cheese slices or I do whatever cheese I have and then a box of stuffing – still all layered – and drizzle with butter. Foil covered bake for 30 mins mmmm). I donโ€™t add veggies inside but I make along side since Iโ€™m fussy but Iโ€™m not in my garden like Busy Tessie is ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Wow,read my mind Tessie.Putting chicken in crock pot today. But doing stuffing separate. No room! And wanted to thank you for recommending Grampy! Love his humor, sweet guy!

  • Tessie it been raining so much I cant seem to get motivated to much of anything. Even your chickens look down. I finally may see the sun later in the day. Good crock pot meal nice comfort food to have on such a rainy gloomy day. Looks fabulous I love chicken meals like that. I would add carrots to mine as well as the green beans. It's a perfect meal anytime. Tessie I hope you enjoy what I sent you. Today I'm going to the Salvation Army thrift store to donate more stuff I'm clearing out the house albeit slowly but surely. Tessie you always brighten my day even on the darkest days with your warm bright smile and chuckles. Your so funny talking to your chicken's well I talk to the cats in the morning too. Works better than talking to people some times. Tessie your very special to me a sister and friend like I never had. I know I can talk to you in confidence your empathy and kindness to others really shines. Love you my sister and friend forever in my heart. ๐Ÿ™‚ Prayers and blessed to you and Ken ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Good Morning Tessie and friends, Well it's another day and it looks like it finally clearing up and I get to see the sun after three days of steady rain. I'm going to get out and enjoy the day while I can it may not last for long. It's a wonderful day in Tessie Land it's always a wonderful day in Tessie Land " Where Friends Are Made ". Today I'm taking my mom to the dentist for a three hour long procedure to make a permanent bridge. Please keep her in prayer that the procedure goes smoothly. After I drop mom off I am off to the Salvation Army thrift store to drop off a whole bunch of stuff. I am slowly clearing out the house of things that have been sitting around collecting dust. Next week I have my sister and brother coming to spend a week with us and I need to get busy cleaning the house and straightening up the house and get ready for them. Have a most wonderful Wednesday be blessed. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love you all:) Keep smiling ๐Ÿ™‚

  • The crockpot meal looks perfect for a cold day. Don't feel bad Tessie we had snow yesterday in Vermont! Yes I woke up to white snow everywhere! It was gone by noon but the day remained very cold. It's only in the 40,s today. I wonder how the growing season will go. Oh well! Thanks for sharing!

  • Good morning Tessie, good morning all! I guess I'll have to start watching these cooking videos later on in the day. Everything looks so good that I want dinner NOW… anyway, hope everyone has has a wonderful day, no matter where you are or what your weather is like. Love and hugs from FL.

  • I make a casserole very much like this. It is so good with such simple ingredients! I do add chicken broth to mine. I have been making this for 35 years! I know this because when I had my son my friend made this for me after I came home from the hospital. Itโ€™s always a hit!

  • Love the way you talk to your feathered friends and they answer back : ) Used to have chickens when I was a youngster, and I always enjoyed the sound of their contented cooing<3

  • Oh Tessie, I had to laugh so hard. When you mentioned chicken for dinner, that one yellow hen would not take her eyes off you. Like she was giving you a stare down. So funny. Great meal today. It will be another very busy day here in Illinois. Going to plant some wildflower seeds we got free from our local library. We are planning to plant them in our little back meadow. Have a great day.

  • Another good one! Kinda like the one you made of mine, with a twist ๐Ÿ˜‚ always nice to change things up!

  • Hi Tessie. Your recipe sounds so good and easy but have you ever tried using cream of chicken soup.
Also do you have any recipes for making your own homemade stuffing?

  • Good morning Tessie ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Crazy weather here too in KC… raining a lot…and lows in 40's… pass couple days dry and calling for 89 degrees tomorrow…. geesh…. then back to 70's and rain…. just praying it won't be raining on the 30th when I'm moving…ย Crockpot dish looked yummo!!! Comfort food!!!ย  Have a wonderful day Tessie ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Bless!! <3

  • Looks yummy….totally with you on the chicken we eat alot of it as well. I hadn't thought of this meal for awhile might have to pull it out this week ๐Ÿ˜€ Yeah our garden has been well watered…so much that we haven't been able to get it all put in yet.

  • Hi Tessie! โ˜บ Another video of yours I enjoyed! Thank you for sharing! That recipe looks Scrumptious!! I will give it a try (probably in the oven, hope it comes out okay that way?)!!! ๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•โ˜บ
I would like to share with you that a "Cheaper" Protein Dish, as an alternative to chicken; is Quiche. A fav of mine is spinach, shrimp & goat or feta cheese! ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜› YumYum!
Git you some "FREE" eggs in your backyard, ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„ get crackin n' mixin up a great dish. I think that you may like it! Happy Cooking!! Happy Videoing!! โ˜บโ˜บ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a price on that chicken!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous. We just had that rain come through here. Our garden is SWAMPED. The potatoes will probably end up rotting…. so sad… ๐Ÿ™ We will have to see. That crock pot meal looks fab. You are awesome. God bless you sis.

  • Love chicken and stuffing. I use cream of chicken soup a lot when cooking. This time well watching you make it I was thinking some chicken gravy would be really nice over the top of it. Have a great day!

  • My arthritis screeched at me the whole time. I was curled under blankets and trying to take as little painkiller as possible.

  • That sounds like a good comfort food that you could add different vegetables to if you wanted to. You can tell by the way your chickens get close to you, they love you.

  • Tessie those poor chickens were looking at you very intensively when you were talking about your meal I know they were saying what ! what ! surely not us, just making fun I know you keep your feathers friends for ever, curious did you get your permanent tooth yet ? so painful when they work in this area of the mouth. have a great week.

  • Good Morning Tessie, ha ha ha! Those girls sure do love you…soo sweet…, what an easy meal to put together for the crockpot…excited that you're going to incorporate more of your canned foods into the dishes for us…See ya later today…love to you…ha ha! just caught the humor in your telling the chickens that you'll be cooking chicken…good thing that they took on offense to that! ha ha

  • We are having the same weather here in West Tennessee, that is a good recipe I for got about it , itโ€™s been a long time since ai made it . Thanks again

  • This is a great all in one meal. I don't make a lot of crock pot meals but I appreciate you bringing us this recipe.

  • You didn't show how it came out. ๐Ÿ˜œ lol
No rain here today! Happy dance!
Everybody have a great day. Rain or shine๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

  • That was so easy and quick. Don't have any chicken so I guess I'll use my left over turkey with some cubed up Pumpernickel and rye bread. Thanks sis keep smiling sweetie xoxo

  • That's one of my families favorite meals. I used the turkey I deboned from the freezer the last time I roasted a turkey. We roast turkey often in my house cause we love them. I used the turkey carcass for making turkey broth and canned it. I add green beans and cream of mushroom soup and wow we rarely have any left overs. If you need more liquid I just pop a pint of the turkey broth. Yummy. I really like your crock pot Wednesdays meals. Made the potato Amish hamburger casserole you had on YouTube and it was another hit, and yes I added the cheese just like you did. Yummy yummy. Keep those recipes coming. We're in our late 60s and Poppy is 71 we have been raising our two granddaughters for three years now they are six and ten years old and they say " We're the best cookers around" so thanks Tessie for making it a bit easier for us ole homesteaders with your Crock-Pot meals. Love them ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿฆ‹

  • [email protected]@K's delish. How much chicken do you think you used?
I got some frozen breast halves I could use. So I was curious how much you used.๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘'s like always . Thanks Tessie

  • That looks very good and easy. Also versatile. This reminds me of a pork dish a friend told me to make. Boneless pork( the cheaper sirloin cut), cream of mushroom soup over the top, and then stove top stuffing made to directions on the top. Then baked in the oven. It's really good. I have a chicken I need to pick off the bone so may try this in a few days. Today is cool and windy here so I decided to make a quiche and some french onion soup to warm up. I've never made the soup before so I'm not to sure about caramelizing the onions. It's going now so time will tell.

  • I love the way you cook. Simple, quick and tasty. Good old comfort food that fills your belly and sticks to your ribs without breaking the bank. Thanks for sharing Tessie . ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Hi Tessie! I took notes so I can make this very soon. It looks delicious. This recipe would be a great way to rotate through our Sam's canned chicken breast too. I'm going to make some with peas. Yummy! Thank you. ๐Ÿ’œ

  • Beans, Chicken and a crockpot, I'm all ears and my chin is getting wet ๐Ÿ˜› Due this recipe I was wondering if I could simplify the Roti recipe even more. I know the people from Surinam would hang me for that, but the original recipe isn't exactly frugal for people in the USA. Overhere (due our colonial history) some stuff is easy to obtain without the use of Amazon. But I believe I can do the trick ๐Ÿ™‚ It would be something like this. Put the chicken and some chopped onion in a pan with some oil, add some garlic powder, salt, pepper, curry powder, chrushed chicken broth tablets and tomato paste to it. If the onions are translucent, add some water to it, and put some peeled and cubed potatoes and beans to it. Let it simmer until it's done, and for the final touch forget the eggs and 'roti pancakes' and give it an all American touch by serving it with Cornbread ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I do something similar but always baked it. No more baking its going in the crock pot from now on. Thanks

  • Tessie, it looks so good. It hasn't rained this week!! But it will start storming and and raining this Saturday.๐Ÿค Hope your Wednesday was blessed!!!๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

  • The weather is behaving very strange, but it is the fault of us humans. Here in Chile it is crazy, in the middle of the country the drought is very very bad, and in the south the amount of rain has been terrible, awful flodding. In the south the glaciers are melting, the Antartica is breaking pieces…. it is the global warming, and the world id being silent about it. Mr. Trump says there is no global warming, period, and the US as government is not involved in any of it. I am so worried. Much love to you my dear friendโค๏ธ๐ŸŒท

  • Tessie loving u 2x a day. I have roast in crockpot today with carrots taters celery onions. Youd be proud i ove canned butter with the hubby. We had our freezer go wonky so we needed to shuffle food and now we will preserve butter by canning to save freexer room

  • That meal looks so yummy! Iโ€™m going to make this. Nothing better than chicken and stuffing. Hugs Sisโค๏ธ

  • Good morning Tessie!!! This looks SO YUMMY!!! It is fresh fast and time saving!!! Yummy to boot!! What can be better than that??? YOU GO GIRL!

  • Never thought of putting something like this together! Before I retired I only used raw meat in the Crock Pot, since it would have to cook all day while I was gone.

I made up a batch of "bone broth" a few days ago, so I have plenty of frozen chicken. Thanks so much Tessie! ๐Ÿ˜‰
